These are not your local parts store with a web site, (there are thousands of those), these are companies that make most of there sales on the web. Researching 100 sites before making a purchase is not my idea of how to start a great buying experience. So let me give you a few things to look for that will make your buying experience a pleasant one and help you bypass sites that may not provide the best security or customer service.

If you do a search on Google for auto parts keep this in mind. The ads you see at the top and down the right column are Sponsored Links. The ads at the top are highlighted and the ads in the right column have a line down the page. This is to separate these ads from the rest of the ads on the page. What is the difference?

The Sponsored Links are ads from advertisers who paid to be in those positions. The rest of the ads are placed in page rank, which is a another story. But in a nut shell, the most popular advertiser is first, the next most popular is next and so on. The first ad is a good place to start, then just go down the page one ad after the other.

I would try to stick with the first couple of pages otherwise it will get to time consuming. You should also check out a few of the paid ads. They paid to be on Google's first page so they want your business.

When you get to an advertisers site the first thing to look for is how secure is their site. Scroll down to the bottom of their home page to see what kind of security services they use. You may see the VeriSign Seal. When you click on the seal, you get a pop-up window from VeriSign which will give you the security services that the web sight is using.

Such as, SSL Certificate expiration date, if they use Encrypted Data Transmission and if the site owners have been Verified. VeriSign is a very popular and well know security service, but there are others. McAfee Secure is another.

Are they a member of the Better Business Bureau? Have they been rated or Certified by BizRate.com? It would be very rare to find a site with all of these but, the more the better. The point is you want to make sure you are dealing with a secure web site. You are going to be giving them your credit card, bank and personal information, so check out their site security, this is very important.

Next check their warranty. What is the warranty on their parts? What is their parts return policy? Do they have free or discount shipping? Is their check out secure and how long will it take to get your parts? What if you have a question, when is customer service available? It looks like a lot to look for before you even place an order but, it is necessary. Every order is not perfect every time so you have to protect yourself and your wallet if there is a problem.

Now you want to check out their ordering system. Most automotive parts sites use an Online Catalog Ordering System. They are very easy to use. Some will ask you for your vehicles year, make and model then you click the search button and a list of all the parts available for your vehicle will appear. Others may ask you what part you are looking for first and then ask for your vehicle information.

So make sure you have all the needed vehicle information handy. Your vehicles, year, make model and engine size, should be all you need. You can get most of this information from your registration. You engine size is on the information label in your engine compartment or sometime stamped on your air cleaner or valve cover.

If you are not comfortable with an Online Catalog Ordering System, most reputable site will have 24/7 Phone Ordering where you can talk to a real person. With your online order or phone order you will get a confirmation number, keep this number in a safe place. The online order should also give you a printable receipt. Don't forget to print it.

When your parts arrive the first thing you do is check the package for shipping damage. Make note of any holes in the package or evidence that the package was dropped. If there is shipping damage, report it right away to the shipping company. When you are ready to open the package, do so carefully. If there is a problem and you have to return the parts you will need the original shipping package. So do not damage it. Also check the invoice or packing slip to make sure what you ordered is what you got.

Finally keep all your receipts, invoices and conformation numbers together where you can find them. If you do have a failed part and have to return it, you will have everything you need.

If you would like to know which online Auto Parts Store I use, visit my automotive web site Jeeplibertyparts.com

I am the Blog Administrator for 4x4 Street, located at http://4x4street.com.
Automotive Web Site Jeep Liberty Parts, located at Http://jeeplibertyparts.com

Buy Auto Parts Online

It seems that no one has enough time these days, but deciding to buy auto parts online can make your life a little easier, and in some cases save you big bucks! There was a time when you needed to jump in your car or truck, and drive down to the auto-parts warehouse in search of the exact part you needed. Once you arrived there, you likely had to wait in line for a while, and when someone was finally available to help you, more often than not, it was an 18 year old who needed to go, "look in the back," to determine if they had the part you needed.

But the days of driving all over town searching for one specific part are just about over. In fact, those days are dead and gone. In the new millennium, locating and purchasing auto parts is as easy as searching online from the comfort of your own PC. Some of the largest auto-parts mega-stores have gone online, developing huge and instantly searchable web sites that make finding and buying the parts you need a piece of cake.

Auto parts companies can put their entire warehouse online. There's an unbelievable selection of auto parts available online -- everything from fan belts to rear ends; from tire air valves to complete body kits. Even carry parts for rare and antique vehicles, and the web sites are instantly searchable.

You don't have to waste time or reading a lot of pages to find out if they have what you want; simply enter the name of the auto part you need in their handy search function; in less than a second you will get a definite answer as to whether they have the part you need or not.

You'll find functional and varied web sites that makes it easy to locate any car part imaginable. Additionally, you can also find car repair guides, including information on installation, troubleshooting and general auto repair.

Not every make and model is included in these guides -- yet -- but they have are additional services where you can register your car and be provided with specifics for installing a wide variety of parts, from muffler and exhaust systems, to full body kits.

You can save an enormous amount of time locating and purchasing auto-parts online. But buying parts online has another big advantage -- it cuts out the middleman. This can often mean big savings when shopping for auto-parts online.

With no physical store to maintain and keep up, and only a handful of employees required to run the web site, the distributors cost per part goes way down, resulting in lower prices on many items. The bottom line is, when you buy online, you're saving both time and money.

Craig Thornburrow is an acknowledged expert in his field. I come from a long family line of mechanics and auto enthusiasts and they've learned the ins and outs of getting affordable car parts.

All you really need to buy car parts online is an Internet connection and a credit card or PayPal account. The Internet is widely used today as a mode of communication and it's also an excellent tool to get access to more of what you need and want. In the past, it was difficult to get car parts from outside of your area. You would have to have connections or have someone to order them for you such as through a car lot, dealership or repair shop.

Today you can cut out the middle man thus reducing the middle man fees. Using the Internet also allows you to find the parts that you need even if they are not in your local area. It also opens you up to new methods of communication to help you find specific parts you might be looking for.

There are literally hundreds of car part dealers out there that you can find on the Internet. You can search for the exact parts you need according to model numbers and vehicle types. This makes it easier than ever before to find exactly the car parts you need at the click of a button.

Because you are typically ordering straight from the dealership or the manufacturer, you can get incredible savings. The savings are passed on to you when you buy direct from the source of the part.

While there are many benefits to buying car parts online, there are some cautions to be aware of, like with anything. Always be sure you know who you are buying from and that they are a reputable dealer. You also want to be sure you are aware of any warranties and return policies that may be in effect for the items that you plan to purchase.

There are some cases where you will not be able to return the parts that you purchase online for your car so always be sure you know the fine print when you make your purchase. Buying car parts online gives you more opportunity to get what you need and save a buck or two in the process. Those savings then carry on to other things you want to be spending your money on.

About the Author:

Lisa Mason is a freelance writer with a specialty in Internet content and SEO articles and the author of How to Earn a Living Writing for the Internet. Things like clutches, gearboxes and parts of the engine can be very expensive to replace but your car won't work without them. They are expensive because they are designed for your model of vehicle and it is rare to find one make that will fit with another type of car. This means that you are forced to find a very specific part.

To help take the sting out of these unavoidable costs, here are some suggestions of where you can look in order to find cheap car parts.

Scrap yards

A great source of cheap car parts can be found at a scrap yard. This is where people take their cars when they are nearing the end of their life so that they can be officially taken off the road and so that the owner no longer has to pay road tax.

The owners of the scrap yard will strip down each car, keeping parts that still work and crush the rest and sell it. If you need a specific part it can be worth your while phoning round all the scrap yards in your area and finding out if they have what you need. If they do they will be able to sell it to you at a reasonable price.

Car auctions

If what you need is very expensive to by new, you may be able to buy a whole car for less than the part is worth. Car auctions can see a massive range of vehicles on offer, some brand new, some only worth scrap. If you find a car there that has the part you need, it might be so hard to find that you can buy the car just in order to get the part.

Online

You can now buy all kinds of parts online. Even performance car parts can be found with ease and at prices which high street stores will find it very hard to beat. This is because due to the fact the business is based online, they will have lower staff overheads and be able to charge less for parts.

Friends

A good last resort is to ask friends to help you out with car parts. Anyone you know who works in a garage might be able to sort you out with a bit of inside knowledge and some contacts.

Sam Qam is a mechanic. He specialises in finding performance car parts for obscure vehicles.

Article Source: http://www.clarkmotorsport.co.uk/

The Best Ways to Find Used Cars For Sale

Buying a used car seems like a fairly easy process. The actual purchase is pretty simple. The hard part comes from finding the vehicle that best fits your wants and needs. How can you do this? Where should you look?

Online Classified Websites: Online classified websites are a great way to find used cars for sale. Better yet is that most of these cars are being sold by their owner; therefore, they tend to have a cheap or at least reasonable price tag. There are many different types of classified websites out there. Some let you search with a zip code and a radius, others make you choose your local city page, and so forth. If looking for something in particular, search with that vehicle's make and model. Otherwise, use a general phrase such as "used car."

Please note that while searching online classified websites is a great way to find used cars for sale online, you are often searching that website alone. There are some websites, which are commonly referred to as shopping search sites or engines, enable you to do one search. And, that one search returns results from thousands of classified websites, car buying websites, and more.

Car Dealerships: We all know that a dealership is a great way to find used cars for sale. The tricky part comes from the travel and those salespeople. Want to avoid unnecessary travel or pushy salespeople? Use the internet to your advantage or call ahead. Find the phone numbers of local used car dealers. Call and ask about the cars in stock; you save yourself a trip if they don't have what you want. Moreover, many dealers have online websites that showcase their current stock. Like what you see? Plan a visit.

Car Buying Websites: Car buying websites are similar to online classified websites, but they have a focus on cars, trucks, vans, motorcycles, motor homes, and so forth. You will find a number of these websites online. Some enable all sellers (including dealers) to upload information about a for sale vehicle. Others deal only with for sale by owner sellers or used dealers. These websites can be found with a standard internet search. Some enable users to search with a keyword phrase, but others require you select a make, model, and year from a dropdown menu.

Being on the Lookout: Finally, another good way to find used cars for sale is to always be aware. This is particularly important if you are looking for a cheap vehicle. Cheap vehicles don't leave the seller much room for profit; therefore, they don't spend as much money on advertising. The buyers who scoop up these deals often see a car with a for sale sign by the side of the road or at the grocery store. So pay attention, ask around, and be on the lookout for for sale signs.

Visit http://www.SpotThings.com to search for used cars; search thousands of classified sites and car buying sites at once!

Where Can I Get Cheap Car Parts?

Everyone knows that these days owning a car is an expensive business, sometimes even like having a second mortgage. Although it feels great when we drive our lovely motors and the important jobs we can do by using cars, the costs in today's world are endless, for example, insurance costs, MOT costs, servicing cost, breakdown recovery costs and the BIG cost of replacing parts that have come to the end of their time.

Hopefully, this article will aim to help you in today's recession hit economy as to where you can find the parts you need and for the best price, therefore, reducing how much you spend on your car parts.

What about Car Parts from Main Dealers/Dealership?

Buying car parts from a main dealer is one place that you should be able to find your car parts. The good points of finding your car parts from dealerships is that they have a computerised system which can find the parts you're after using the part number on your existing part. In addition, it is always common that there will be a dealership for most manufacturers in each of the towns and cities of the UK.

However, although the likelihood of sourcing your parts from main dealers is very good, there are many factors that make this option simply not viable. Firstly, the cost of buying your part will most definitely come at the highest premium. Secondly, for the dealership to be able to source the part in the first place they will need the part number off your old part, which is sometimes hard to get especially if the part concerned is a gearbox or a front headlight as you cannot drive about without these when trying to source your parts.

Thirdly, sometimes it can be difficult to find time in the day or bear the rainy weather to actually go in to the dealership and enquire about parts, especially when they are generally located in out-of-town retail parks.

What about Car Parts Online?

Online sources of buying your car parts are the new ways motoring customers are finding car parts these days. There are many advantages of using online sources to buy car parts, with one of them being that you don't even need to leave the comfort of your own home and being able to browse the internet any time that is convenient for you.

The other prominent major factor for this preferred method of buying parts is that in the time it takes you to go to one dealership, you would have been able to visit a dozen or so websites which then will enable you to get the most competitive price out there, thus, SAVING YOU MONEY.

There are numerous websites in the market place that offer new parts, and are loads cheaper than main dealerships and offer a pretty good deliver service. However, although their prices are good, the parts are not the same quality as main dealers as they are just replacements/after market parts. In addition, they generally cater for parts that you need for servicing your car, for example, brake pads, brake fluid, air filter etc, and therefore, they are not so great when you need parts such as engines, gearboxes, bonnet, bumpers, doors etc.

The other recommended websites will compare prices of parts out there. These websites specialise in finding new and used car parts, and are by far the cheapest and are very good at finding the part. The advantage of using these websites is that you tell them what you want and they 'compare the market' across the majority of breaker-yards in the country, and then get you the cheapest price.

In addition, as well as doing your bit for the environment in recycling car parts, the parts are genuine and to the same quality as the dealership parts, they are by far the most competitive on price and believe it or not they give guarantees on parts and next day delivery service is provided.

In conclusion, to the question Where can I get cheap car parts? We would recommend using the price locating service first as you will be getting quality/genuine parts for the cheapest price out there, plus it's FREE to use service. We would then suggest the other online parts websites as they are good at sourcing parts too. If you have no luck with these companies, then were afraid you will have no choice but to visit the dealership with your credit card in tow.

Derek Rogers is a freelance writer who writes for a number of UK businesses. Ask anyone. And this doesn't just refer to the price of a new car, but also to the maintenance and upkeep as well. Even getting your oil changed (if you don't do it yourself) can cost $50+ depending on where you go.

Or what about when some small plastic part breaks and the dealer quotes you $180 for a replacement (and that's just the price of the part; it doesn't include labor!). Fortunately, the internet can help you save some money in two main ways:

Car forums - Almost anything that has a fanbase in real life has a discussion forum on the the internet where people talk about it. There are often car forums for many different types of cars, and on these forums you can find people with a lot of experience dealing your particular model.

You can get information about common problems (and how to fix them!) and inside information on how to get better deals at dealerships. There are also often explanation on forums of how to do some simple repairs or maintenance yourself for free and tell you where to get the parts you need, which leads to the next point:

Cheap car parts - You can find almost any car part online for significantly less than your dealer would charge. This includes everything from interior lights to tires.

The only downside is sometimes you may have to wait a little bit longer to have it shipped to you compared to going and getting it immediately from the dealer (unless the dealership has to order it).

Plus, as you spend some time on car forums, you may even make some friends that you keep in contact with for years.

Please visit this site to learn more about cheap car parts.

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Willie_Burrows

Cheap Car Parts

Do you find it hard to find the best cheap car parts store online?

There is really many cheap car parts stores online, I did a Google search on "cheap car parts" the results 11.100.000 results! Yahoo came up with 23.500.000 hits, Msn found 43.300.000 That's a lot.

So how to choose the best cheap car parts store? One night I had some of our friends over for dinner (one of them is a mechanic) and we ended up talking about it. He gave me some pointers to selecting the right store.

A good parts store must show the following:

- How many parts they have in stock.

- The model and make of the cars they are dealing with.

- The ability to search for specific brand name, car, make, model etc.

- Types of product: new parts, used, refurbished, OEM parts etc.

- A professional site with parts easy accessible online.

- Ability to return parts and get a refund. (Make sure to read their policies)

- Address, phone number, faxes etc.

- A lot of payment options and a real storefront, so you can pick up parts from them. Most of the electric car manufacturers and electric car kit makers also sell high quality electric car parts which are easily available now in markets because of increasing demands and improving supply streams.

Electric car parts are generally of two types firstly those which are meant for electric conversion kits and secondly those meant for factory made electric car models. In fact battery is one of the most sought after electric car part. Both types of products are easily available provided you look for them in the right places.

Generally the quality is very good but if someone sells you electric car parts like battery at prices too good to be true, it's the best option to stay clear of these products as they may either be totally substandard or their quality must be subject to suspicion.

The electric car parts for factory made electric cars are generally available from the original equipment manufacturers. These products go through a number of hard quality checks and also certified by many quality assurance companies. If brought from an authorized dealer, the genuineness of the electric car part is almost every time guaranteed.

These kinds of electric car parts may be made using proprietary technology and may not be available in open market from other manufacturers, thus if the original equipment manufacturer stops making the product, these kinds of electric car parts may be very hard to find.

The other kind of electric car parts are those meant for vehicles using an electric car kit. Unlike the electric car parts meant for factory made cars, these kind of electric car parts are generally available from a bunch of makers unless its a specific part of the car kit itself in which case this kind of a part may only be available from the car's electric kit maker.

Being available in the open market from a number of manufacturers, these kind of electric car parts are generally easy to find but you must exercise caution and discretion while spending your money because the quality of the product is not something worth taking any risk.

It must be kept in mind that with proper market research and consultation of experts any one can buy an electric car part, what needs to be kept under consideration is that the quality of the product should not be compromised for a lower price and the buyer should always make every effort to make an informed decision.

Author is automobile engineer. Whether you fix the cars of family and friends, or have a clunker that you want to turn into a head-turning show car, you have to put out a fair amount of money to buy car parts. What follows, though, is a step by step method of finding inexpensive car parts to help keep your hobby in budget.

1. Put an advertisement in the classifieds of a local newspaper or local penny-saver paper that you are looking for fellow car enthusiasts to team up with to find inexpensive car parts. Give your name and number and tell them you're looking to form a club.

2. When the car enthusiasts respond your advertisement, tell them your idea: that you form a discount car parts club so that you call can save money by filling the minimum purchase order on bulk car part purchases. Get a list from them of the parts they need to fix their cars, and add it to the list of parts you need.

3. Go online to an inexpensive or wholesale car parts site by typing "cheap car parts" or "wholesale car parts" into the search line of your browser. Many of these places have a minimum order of only a couple hundred dollars (or sometimes even less!) So you shouldn't have any problem filling the order. Sometimes, these minimum order quantities mean you also get free shipping and warranties on the parts!

4. When the parts arrive, call the car enthusiasts in your discount car parts club and have them pick up the order and drop off the payment payment. They'll be surprised at how much they saved and you may be able to get another order from them.

If a venture like this is very successful, it could lead to an enjoyable money making hobby where you act as a parts-ordering middleman for local car part enthusiasts.

If the only thing stopping you is whether or not you can trust the people who respond to your ad, simply get something from them in writing to say that they will reimburse you when the part arrives.

Car part buying can be an expensive part of a fun hobby. But if you can find a few people to help buy parts in bulk, you can reduce your costs... and that will increase your fun!

Jeff Lakie is the founder of Car Parts Information [http://www.cheap-truck-accessories.info] a website providing information on Car Parts [http://www.cheap-custom-wheels.info]

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Jeff_Lakie

~ affan.oke2.net ~

Various Options For Car Parts

There is much debate and controversy on which auto parts are ideal for servicing and repairing cars. Ideally, there are three types of car parts. New OEM parts are manufactured by the original car manufacturer or a authorized designate of the car manufacturer.

Used OEMs are second hand car parts removed mainly from written off cars. The aftermarkets are auto parts manufactured by a manufacture not authorized by the car manufacture. There are many arguments for and against the different types of car parts. This article endeavors to highlight on the various arguments posed for these different types.

New OEM Parts

For many years, new OEM parts were the only options for servicing and repairing cars. Today, there are still many car parts such as Brake Rotors and Brake Pads that wear fast and are cheap to purchase and it only makes sense to purchase the new auto parts. However, for the more expensive ones, you can check out the options. New manufacturer parts are either manufactured at the car manufacturing plant or outsourced to off-shore metal fabrication companies especially in far east countries like China. They are made with a certain level of quality standards.

Advantages of New OEM Parts

The main argument for the new OEM parts is that they are approved by the original car manufacture. Therefore, they do not affect the insurance of the car or the warranty placed on the car. Furthermore, if you can get parts made by the original car manufacturing plant, then you can be sure that the auto parts will fit properly and will be compatible with other car parts. Since they are new and quality, they last longer and give your car better functionality.

Disadvantages of New OEM Parts

The main case against the new OEM car parts is their high cost. Many argue that the same companies outsourced to make the new manufacturer parts are the same that make the aftermarkets. However, the aftermarkets are usually 50-70% lower in price than that of the new OEM parts. Furthermore, some car service experts complain that the new manufacture auto parts made from outsourced companies in China, India and other offshore countries are of low quality as compared to the original ones.

User OEM Parts

Used car parts are usually staked in a second hand garage or a junk shop. However, over time, the industry has become organized and there are big companies that test and package used auto parts in a more professional way.

Advantages of Used OEM Parts

The main advantage of the used manufacturer parts is that they are originals that were used in a similar car model. They are therefore guaranteed to fit. They are also much cheaper than the new OEM ones. The people who argue for used parts insist that they are the best since there are many new manufacture car parts made by inferior outsourced companies and thus compromising on their quality. They say that the aftermarkets are not tested and come with no guarantee.

Disadvantages of Used OEM Parts

The biggest pitfall for these used auto parts is that they are at times unavailable and you can not always rely on them. Furthermore, being used, many argue that the quality cannot be guaranteed as the level of wear and tear is a subjective issue.

Aftermarket Parts

In the early 1980s when the outsourcing boom hit, many car manufacture outsourced the making of parts to outsource companies in South America and in the far east Asia. Many of these outsource companies manufactured these parts but sold them indirectly to the car market. This is when the aftermarket parts came to be.

Advantages of Aftermarket Parts

Many who argue for the aftermarkets insist that they are manufactured by the same outsourced companies but cost much more than those that are labeled with the original car company authority. They argue that the high price for the new OEM ones is simply the high franchise fees charged to the companies that manufacture the car parts.

Disadvantages of Aftermarket Parts

The main disadvantage of aftermarket auto parts is that they have no warranty and you can never be sure about their quality or whether they will actually fit into your car.

By Lagnajeet Roy
Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/4650875

What Are Aftermarket Car Parts?

After market car parts is a fast growing business in the USA. Many car enthusiasts love to make their car unique and stand out from the crowd by making modifications to the original. Though due to the limited options given by car manufacturers some look elsewhere. That is where aftermarket car parts come in.

When purchasing a new car from an auto dealer, there is something commonly known as "stock" which are the standard options provided by the dealer. These standard stock options include the essential components such as engine, transmission, wheels and also performance part. The stock can also include interior car parts such as lighting. Though many dealer do provide upgrades to a certain extent these are still limited for many car enthusiast, some extras can include alloy wheels, satellite navigation and other extras. Thus many people look elsewhere to truly modify there vehicles.

Some people may purchase aftermarket car parts for safety reasons such as xenon headlight upgrades which provide brighter and whiter light and therefore greater visibility. Other people may just want their cars to look good and have that exclusivity and would purchase styling parts and accessories like body kits and alloy wheels to make their cars stand out from the crowd. So what are aftermarket parts? Simply put, aftermarket parts are those which have been made by a company other than the original manufacturer of your car. Manufacturers parts are commonly known as Original Equipment Manufacturer. So why buy parts from someone other than that of your car manufacturer?

It's like in any market if a company are making only certain kind of products they may have more knowledge than the original manufacturers therefore they have the ability to provide better and larger range of products such as a company specializing in performance car parts may provide better parts.

Aftermarket car parts contain wide range of product types such as light bulbs to air filters and turbo kits and chrome wheels. Some aftermarket parts can be installed by the car's owner with minimal or no knowledge about cars while other parts may require you to seek a professional to install the part. You should seek advice from a knowledgeable person before purchasing an aftermarket car part.

There are certain criteria which one must be aware of before going out to buy aftermarket car parts. Firstly you need to be aware that installing an aftermarket car part may null your vehicles warranty, if there is any. Therefore, be sure to check your warranty documents before proceeding to install a car part. Secondly ensure you know your car make, model and year as these are the common criteria used to check whether a part is compatible with your car. Finally be sure to check your local laws as installing a certain type of part may be deemed illegal in your area of residence.

Concept Rides offer hundreds of aftermarket car parts including exterior car parts, performance car parts, interior car parts, car electronics parts, wheels & rims diesel car parts and much more including a blog where you can find information on aftermarket car parts products and cars in general.
